The Japanese manufacturer is now using structural adhesives that make its body extremely rigid, while the hollow parts of its exterior are now coated by a new foam. The foam acts as a sound insulator by filling out the voids, making the new 2022 Civic the quietest in its history. What’s more, to make it lighter and more fuel-efficient, it also uses industrial-grade aluminum, including its all-aluminum hood.

A more powerful engine

The 11th-generation Honda Civic comes standard with a 2.0 L 4-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque for the LX, EX and Sport versions, while the Touring version is powered by a 1.5 L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower (6 more than the previous version), and 177 lb-ft of torque, 15 more than the 2021 Civic. Also note that the manual transmission will no longer be available, except for the hatchback and Si models as well as the 2022 Honda Civic Type R.

The Civic offers 3 driving modes: Normal, Sport and ECON. While the Civic is already very fuel-efficient, ECON mode allows you to save even more money at the pump.
